Our Approach

Why operators make better advisors, how we work, and the commitments we make to every licensee before we sign.

Why operators make better advisors

Most cannabis consultants learned the business from the application side. They know how to write a plan the regulator will score. Fewer have signed the lease, sat through the town hearing, waited on the vault door, passed the inspection, hired the budtenders and made payroll every two weeks.

We have done all of it in our own stores for more than eight years. That changes the advice. Our plans assume real timelines, real costs and real staffing. Our SOPs describe steps a team can follow on a busy Saturday. And when we manage a store, the same people and systems that run ours run yours.

Our independence commitments

We put these in writing in every engagement.

  • Flat, fixed fees. We do not take a share of your revenue or profit unless a regulator has approved that structure.
  • You keep control. You own the license and make final decisions on hiring, pricing, purchasing, banking, contracts and regulator communications.
  • No supplier money. We do not accept payments from suppliers for placing products in client stores.
  • No self-dealing. We do not sell our own products to the stores we manage.
  • Conflicts disclosed. We disclose any conflict of interest in writing before an engagement starts.

What we will never do

Promise a license

Regulators decide, and many rounds are lotteries. We promise complete, accurate work, never an approval.

Claim insider access

We work through the regulator's process like everyone else.

Take control of an equity license

No equity, options or control rights in social equity, CAURD or impact licensees.

Look for loopholes

When a rule blocks a plan, we tell you and find the compliant path.

Built for each state's rules

Every state treats management and consulting agreements differently, and the rules keep changing. We match each engagement to the state:

  • New York presumes management services providers are true parties of interest, so we work there under flat-fee advisory and services agreements where the licensee keeps control.
  • New Jersey reviews management agreements for fairness, so our fees are flat and the licensee always keeps the larger share of profit and the final say.
  • Maryland requires approval of management agreements and caps fees, and we file accordingly.
  • Connecticut bars agreements that shift operational control from social equity owners from November 1, 2026, so our work there is advisory, training and defined services.

See the state guides for sources and details. This is general information, not legal advice.

How we report

For ongoing work, you receive a monthly report on eight numbers: customers per day, average ticket, gross margin, labor cost, new customers, delivery share where allowed, shrink and the compliance audit score. Each has a target and a red flag, and every red flag comes with a fix, an owner and a date.

Tell us where you are. We will tell you what comes next.

Whether you are applying, licensed but not open, or already operating, a 30-minute call will give you a clear next step for your license.
